Alloy wheel refurbishment in Collier Row

Collier Row is around half an hour from the unit. It is a busy residential postcode with a strong local car scene, and we get a good spread of work from it — everyday refurbs alongside custom colours and caliper painting. If you want something that is not on any manufacturer chart, we can powder coat to a specific colour rather than pick from a small menu. Bring the paint code or a sample and we will work from it.

We are not a mobile service — Collier Row customers come to us. Everything is done at our Wickford unit (Unit 40, Andersons Industrial Estate, SS12 9EJ). We do not offer collection or mobile visits, so you make your own way here — about 30 minutes and 18 miles from Collier Row. Drop the car in, or bring the wheels loose.

The run from Collier Row

Down to the A12, east to Gallows Corner, A127 to the Fortune of War, then A132 north. About half an hour.

There is no travel charge and no premium for coming from outside Wickford — the price is the price. If 18 miles is an awkward round trip to do twice, bring the wheels loose instead: four in the back of an estate or a van works perfectly well, and plenty of our Collier Row customers do exactly that.

The parking around Collier Row Lane and the estate roads off it are tight and kerbed throughout. Speed cushions on the residential streets do the rest.

What we do for Collier Row cars

Everything happens at Unit 40 — nothing is sent away and nothing is subcontracted. That matters most for the two jobs a mobile repairer genuinely cannot do: diamond cutting, which needs a CNC lathe, and crack welding, which needs a TIG set and a pressure test.

  • Full refurbishment — chemically stripped to bare metal, repaired, powder coated and oven-cured. From £75 a wheel.
  • Diamond cutting — on our own lathe, with a corrosion-inhibiting lacquer. The fix for wheels that have gone cloudy or milky.
  • Crack repair — veed out, TIG welded, machined back and pressure-tested. A cracked wheel is an MOT failure.
  • Buckle straightening — runout measured, not guessed. This is what that vibration at 60 usually is.
  • Caliper painting — calipers off the car, stripped and coated properly. The obvious moment to do it is while the wheels are already off.
  • Locking nut removal — no key needed. From £20 per wheel.

We also run the tuning side out of the same unit — Stage 1 remapping written for your exact engine, plus proper DPF and AdBlue diagnosis. Check what your car should make.
