Cinematic and bookable: the Hire Essex website

Hire Essex is a luxury event hire business run by Kirsty and myself — photo booths, sweet carts, crisp walls, balloon arches, welcome signs and shimmer walls across Essex, Kent, East London and Suffolk. In a crowded market full of near-identical sites, ours had to feel unmistakably premium.

The brief

Look high-end, earn trust fast, and turn browsers into enquiries for weddings and parties — while being honest about exactly what we offer.

What I built

A 15-page site with a dark-luxury aesthetic: Cormorant Garamond and Marcellus headings, gold accents, subtle glassmorphism and a Ken Burns hero. Six genuine services, each with its own page — and pointedly not the invented "magic mirror" and "360 booth" pages an AI tool suggested. Just what we really do.

• A real differentiator up front — no four-hour limit. It's full-day hire with a personalised on-screen backdrop, gold barriers, red carpet and props included.
• Trust, structured — twelve genuine Facebook reviews with real names and events, marked up as a 5.0 aggregate rating in schema so they can earn rich results.
• Frictionless enquiries — a floating WhatsApp button and clear calls to action throughout.
• Four honest coverage areas — Essex, Kent, East London and Suffolk, without spamming dozens of fake per-town pages.

Beyond the website

It grew into a proper booking platform: a token-based flat-file system with a host dashboard, automated birthday-reminder emails (60, 30 and 14 days out) and a two-step Google review request that fires after each event — all branded HTML email, sent nightly by cron.

Premium isn't loud. It's the sum of a hundred small, considered details — and a booking that feels easy.

The brand proudly supports Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, and the site tells that story too. Fully insured and DBS-checked, built on honest local SEO — no keyword stuffing, no doorway pages.
