The Essex Website Health Index.
One number, recalculated every night from our rolling automated audits of real local business websites across Essex, Kent and East London: the percentage of sites free of serious technical faults. This is what the county's web health actually looks like — live.
By town
Towns with at least 13 audited sites, ranked by index (higher = healthier). Small samples move — treat single-point gaps lightly and trends seriously.

Methodology, briefly
Every night our crawler audits a rolling sample of local business websites found via public listings across 60+ towns, checking availability, HTTPS, mixed content, mobile viewport, structured data, markup age and more. A site counts as having a serious fault if it lacks HTTPS or a mobile viewport, serves mixed content, or is down when visited. The Index is simply the share of audited sites with none of those. Full methodology and the annual deep-dive live in the 2026 report; the raw numbers behind this page are free to cite via our open JSON feed (CC-BY, credit Fisher.digital).
