About Jamie & Fisher.digital

I'm Jamie — the designer, developer and everything-in-between behind Fisher.digital. I build honest, properly-made websites for small businesses across Essex and beyond, and I treat the people I build them for as partners, not projects.

A bit about me

I'm 39, and I live in Thurrock, Essex with my wife Kirsty and our two little boys — who keep life loud, busy and brilliant. I wasn't born here; I grew up in a small town in East Yorkshire and moved down to Essex at fifteen, which is home now in every way that counts.

How I found what I'm good at

I discovered web design at sixteen, and it clicked straight away. It clicked for other people too — early on, I was picked out as a rising talent and approached by some of the larger web agencies. The catch was that they were mostly based in London, and at that age, heading into the city on my own wasn't something I felt ready for. So I backed myself instead, and went out on my own.

That decision stuck. I spent the next decade working for myself as a web developer, learning the craft the way you only really can when every job is yours to get right. Later I joined another web development company — the money was good, but the hours were brutal and unsociable, and it slowly took the shine off the thing I loved.

A detour — and coming home

For the past twelve years, I worked in telecoms. It was a good, steady career, but never quite where my heart was — and recently, for health reasons, I had to step away from it. As it turned out, that was the push I needed. I've come back to web development, which, if I'm honest, is where my passion was the whole time. I genuinely don't know why I ever left.

Where I am now

I've been back building websites for around six months, and I'm loving every minute of it. The tools and technology have moved on enormously since my early days, and it's opened up so many new ways to help businesses grow, get found, and reach more of the right people — which is the part I find most rewarding. Coming back with fresh eyes, a lot more life experience, and genuine excitement for the work has, if anything, made me better at it than I've ever been.

How I work — and what it means for you

Here's what matters most to me: I treat every client like a good friend. You're not a ticket in a queue or an invoice number — you're a partner, and I build a genuine relationship with the people I work with. That's why I keep my client list deliberately small, why I'll always give you honest advice even when it isn't what earns me the most, and why the whole Fisher.digital model — a proper, bespoke website for £50 a month with everything included — is built around long-term relationships rather than quick one-off jobs.

If that sounds like the kind of person you'd want looking after your website, I'd genuinely love to hear what you're working on.

Honest, always

Straight advice, even when it's not what earns me the most. No jargon, no overselling, no gimmicks.

A partner, not a supplier

I keep my client list small on purpose, so you're someone I actually know — not an account in a queue.

Built to last

£50/month, everything included — a relationship that grows with your business, not a one-off job.
